Sylvie Heads up the Procurement function of Covea, one of the largest French insurance companies. Based in Paris, Sylvie has a team of 55 people as well as managing the businesses foreign subsidiaries. In 2017, Sylvie is active in a proactive and innovative procurement function. Sylvie readily contributes at group level, deals with functional and hierarchical management of decentralized teams, all using a common purchasing tool.
Jeroen heads up the European procurement function and is an experienced executive in supply chain, purchasing and operations for high tech products and services globally. Currently working within an industry known for leading in procurement and purchasing strategy execution, Jeroen is tasked with driving his team of 70 into the future having established a centralised procurement function with circa 1.1 billion euro in spend. Peter has worked for KPN for the past 5 years providing strategic direction on how to best drive the procurement function forward. Peter has worked to simplify the procurement process and drive innovation through procurement to deliver growth and profit to the business and through this has grown his own team to 40. Peter has had ongoing success in driving value for KPN through cost saving programs, has improved the quality and services delivered from his team and impacted collaborative partnerships with the business segments. These achievements make Peter best placed to speak on influencing and impacting top-line growth. Laura has recently joined Nationwide, the worlds largest Building Society to lead Supply Chain Management which encompasses Procurement, Property, Offshore Operations and Third Party Risk. She is focused upon developing the Supply Chain Strategy to maximise the value of third party relationships, driving efficiency, service excellence, resilience and innovation across the Society for the ultimate benefit of its members. Her career has spanned over 20 years, developing supply chains across multiple industries in firms such as GSK, EY and RBS.
Zsolt heads up indirect procurement globally for Nokia – he is responsible for €4bnindirect material and services spend, as well as the companies indirect Procure to Pay system for 110+ country operations of with a team of c130. Zsolt is also Nokia’s Procurement Integration Leader for the €14bn Alcatel-Lucent acquisition and is responsible for procurement synergy savings, procurement operations integration, transformation and fast and effective ways to maximise synergy savings and organisational effectiveness. Zsolt will be sharing this experience in a case study interactive on M&A using his own experience of Nokia’s successful acquisition of Alcatel-Lucent using procurement operations. Nokia is a Finnish multinational communications and information technology company.
Antti heads up procurement for Europe and firmly believes that managing the external resources of the company is critical to any business’s success, with procurement holding a key role in ensuring the performance of those external resources. Antti has a strong record of accomplishment in process development, team management, strategy creation and execution and has been heavily involved in communication and networking, people and team management and strategic category management, which he will sure on day three of the conference around glocalised procurement models. Telia Company is the dominant telephone company and mobile network operator in Sweden and Finland.
Marco worked as Purchasing Manager at Renault/ Nissan in Paris France. After 7 years he moved in 2005 to ING and started as Sr. International Buyer managing a large outsourcing activity of Wide Area Networks. After various management roles in the field of Infrastructure Procurement he became in 2011 head of Strategy and Change within Global Procurement Bank. In this period he reported to the Chief Procurement Officer and jointly developed the Procurement Roadmap. In May 2014 Marco became Chief Procurement Officer at Wolters Kluwer with Global responsibility to turn-around the Procurement function. He managed an outsourcing of indirect procurement categories to drive incremental savings, large improvements in various savings categories and he is building today a procurement-hub to further mature and optimize the procurement function.

Stéphanie has robust experience in Marketing and Partnership Management, being responsible for negotiating and managing the American Express Corporate co-brand partnership with Air France, Accor, Crédit Lyonnais and KLM, over several years. In addition, Stéphanie is a member of the American Express Executive Women’s Interest Network and a board member of the Adetem Association (marketing association). Stéphanie holds a diploma in International Business from ISG (Institut Supérieure de Gestion) in Paris/ NY and Japan.
Tim is responsible for setting up the Procurement function within Debenhams and thereafter managing ongoing Procurement for goods not for resale including: developing the strategy and a plan for action, recruiting a team of positive; passionate go getting Procurement experts delivering new and innovative commercial strategies and leveraging supplier and partner experience to develop mutually beneficial solutions. Prior to his role at Debenhams, Tim set up the Procurement Team at Estee Lauder Group (30 brands) in the UK and the IT Procurement team in the U.S. driving significant bottom line business benefit. That followed a path of transformation projects at The Home Office, Prudential, British Airways and 3. Tim has a broad range of experience from setting up Procurement functions and gaining that all important buy-in; driving category strategies and business benefits and bringing wider commercial thinking through market knowledge and thinking fundamentally differently about business opportunities and problems. Debenhams plc is a British multinational retailer operating under a department store format in the United Kingdom and Ireland with franchise stores in other countries.
Tim is responsible for central procurement activity, revenue generation and procurement strategy within. These areas encompass all procurement operations, reporting, systems and insight and strategic development across M&S Procurement. He is also responsible for the Retail and Professional Services category team. Tim’s focus’ have been on formation of new Revenue Generation function in M&S, Procurement Transformation programme with PWC and the P2P system replacement – which he will be giving an insight into at ProcureCon Indirect. He will be speaking about our experiences developing a business case for a new P2P system, the process they have been through, the supplier landscape, the issues experienced and the hurdles they have overcome.
Gareth is responsible for delivering the central procurement strategy, with particular focus on procurement systems, procurement operations and reporting for M&S. Prior to this Gareth worked across a number of procurement categories including outsourcing (both on-shore and off-shore), banking & payments, facilities management and consumer sales / data. His current responsibilities include P2P system replacement, Supplier Relationship Management system rollout and development of procurement systems strategy. Tim will be speaking about M&S’ experience in developing a compelling business case for the implementation of a new P2P system. This will include the process they have been through, the supplier landscape, the issues they have experienced and the hurdles they have overcome.
Christoph is directly responsible procurement for RWE in the UK, the Netherlands, Hungary, and Turkey. Leading his team of 45, recently he pioneered the transformation of the UK Procurement team (c70) from a transaction-focused group towards a more strategic, value-creating function - allowing the team to achieve the highest savings within the entire Group. With over 20 years of service in various utility markets including nuclear, renewables and water, Christoph is well placed to facilitate the utilities round-table and speak in an all-star panel around stakeholder management which has been a key focus area in his leadership approach. RWE offers energy and disposal from one source. Their core business is electricity, gas, water, heating, disposal, plants nets, services, solid fuels and oil.
Paolo reports directly to the Vice President for Procurement and Administration on the board, and is responsible for defining the overall procurement strategy of MTS group in conjunction with the Global Group CPO including categories strategies and strategic partners (including Vodafone). In particular Paolo oversees and manages the execution of vendor strategies and relationship activities, procurement planning activities, IT procurement tools implementation and procedures. MTS is the largest mobile operator in Russia and CIS with over 102.4 million subscribers.
Michael is responsible for procurement across the entire Aspen insurance and re-insurance group globally, including setting the strategy and leading a centre of excellence and advises the business on best supplier management practice. As procurement is a newly formed function at Aspen, Michael spent his first year in the role recruiting a global team, implementing a contract management system, deploying spend analysis tools, and most importantly, engaging with the business to demonstrate the value of professional procurement. Using this experience, Michael will be chairing the Glocalised Procurement Models session, drawing upon his experience of working in and leading global teams in the professional and financial services sectors. Michael has been responsible for travel management in a number of roles and he will also be hosting the roundtable on Travel. Aspen Insurances covers a wide range of risks over the globe, creating tailored solutions to provide stability and certainty for our clients.
Kaushik has had the unique experience of working in engineering (Excel Macros, VBA and SQL), procurement market research (200+ category intelligence reports across multiple indirect commodities), procurement analytics (Tableau - Dashboards) and category management positions over the last 7 years. As Head of Procurement Analytics in HSBC, he is currently focused on category innovation and development of effective strategies across top spend categories in the indirect space with a strong motto of bench-marking annual commodity spend with external market conditions. His strong foundation in Market Research and developing procurement Intelligence for Fortune 500 Indirect Category Managers has helped him in implementing several projects in the field of Resourcing, Travel, IT, Consulting, Marketing, IFM and CRE.
John has worked in Market Data and Asset Management for 16+ years and held various management positions in the space of data management and market data sourcing at firms including VP Financial, Saxo Bank and HSBC. In 2012 John was tasked with the setup of a Vendor Management organisation at the Global Asset Manager; Aegon Asset Management. He is currently responsible for procurement and Vendor Management and looks after the organisations vendor relations, contracts and sourcing activities in the space of IT, Third Party Outsourcing, Banking Relations and Market Data. Throughout his career, vendor assessments/score-carding has been one of his key focus areas. Aegon Asset Management is a global, active investment manager.
Katrina has over 12 years of experience as a senior leader in the resourcing field, specialising in helping organisations to evaluate the effectiveness of their total workforce resourcing strategy & model, and leading transformation programmes to implement new approaches. She has a particular specialism & interest in non-permanent resource procurement, helping companies evaluate, improve & integrate their approach to procurement of non-permanent resources to create more effective total workforce resourcing models. Having worked previously as Head of Resourcing for companies such as HCL & Royal Bank of Scotland, Katrina currently heads the resourcing function for Nationwide, the UK’s largest building society and rated 3rd best big company to work for in the UK in the 2016 Sunday Times review.
Jonathan heads up the Procurement function for Close Brothers across UK, Ireland and Germany, Jonathan has implemented a new procurement policy, process and systems and has had significant exposure to a number of cross category deals. Jonathan has headed up both categories and functions across some of the worlds largest banks. Close Bothers is a UK based Merchant Bank with operations in the UK, Ireland and Germany.
Margo has held a number of procurement positions across top financial services organisations including RBS, Aviva and current Deutsche Bank, where she is part of the global procurement team within a newly established team In Poland. She is currently responsible for the professional services category and has a track record of transforming procurement’s contribution to the internal business, delivering breakthrough value and playing an active part in procurement optimisation projects. Margo is well versed in developing business centralised model, leveraging from a local presence and enabled added value from global procurement functions.

As an International Solutions Director in Schneider Electric’s Energy & Sustainability Services (ESS) business, Sara Hoefkens heads up a team of international representatives that work with international Fortune 500 and other large companies in structuring a category setup to optimize management of their company-wide energy and other utilities expenditure.
Before joining Schneider Electric in 2008 (through Summit Energy acquired by Schneider Electric in 2011), Sara worked in a number of business development positions at global ICT solution and services providers. During her free time, Sara spends time reading and travelling or can be found sailing with family and friends.
Florian leads global category management at GFK. Currently, Florian is in charge of implementing the companies global 2020 procurement strategy, strategic sourcing and supply chain management. His specialty includes using procurement as an enabler and developing teams into business partners to stakeholders in order to drive corporate strategies and promote business goals. Florian’s latest achievement was the implementation and roll out of a strategic global category management framework in GFK and he will be sharing this knowledge. GfK is the trusted source of relevant market and consumer information.
Virginie heads up the Cognitive Procurement & Digital Sourcing for Vodafone Procurement Company, a new function within supply chain to drive the companies journey towards becoming a digitally-driven organisation. Virginie holds awards including ‘Innovative Procurement Manager of the Year’ and “Fleet Manager of the Year’ after she took the lead of the datacenter software strategy and lead the transformation programme to centralise tail-end spend. Virginie has a double Master in Business Administration (MIS and MBA) and has continued to use her degrees and experience to futurise procurement. Virginie will be sharing her cognitive procurement experience and approach within category transformation on day two. Vodafone Procurement Company operates as a supply chain management company and the single point of sale and purchase for the Vodafone group.
Pedro is currently working as Digital Business Shaper for Vodafone’s Procurement function, with special focus on digital initiatives such as cognitive procurement. Pedro has held several strategic roles within Vodafone over the last 6 years, including business partnering in the areas of roaming trading and strategic asset management. Prior to Vodafone, he had a 10 year career as strategy and operations consultant for Deloitte and Arthur Andersen where he was tasked with understanding the responsibilities of delivering a wide variety of projects like decision support models, organisational transformation and process reengineering across multiple industries ranging from telecommunications to utilities. Pedro will be sharing this experience on day 2 in our spend segmentation track.

With expertise in risk management and extracting value from combining the best people, technology and processes Gareth is well placed to offer practical advice on how to mitigate risk, create trust and drive value creation.
Falk is responsible for Philips Procurement Consulting, and Philips Healthcare Imaging Systems Procurement Engineering. He joined Philips in 2013 from Siemens, where he occupied several leadership positions, including the Chief Procurement Officer for Siemens Enterprise. With more than 20 years of leadership experience, Falk has a strong track record in restructuring, change and cost management across all strategic Procurement functions including Turn-key project procurement. He leads a pioneering strategy for customer engagement, best placing him to talk about how to use the customer relationship to generate revenue for your business. Danske Bank is a retail bank with details of products and services, plus resources for existing customers.
Frederik is responsible for the indirect procurement categories within Professional Services and Facility Management at PFA Pension, which is the largest Pension Fund in Denmark. Based on compiled spend analysis, Frederik executes and leads RfI/RfP/RfQ and repricing processes. Frederik supports the business on how to be compliant within contract formation policy in order to maximize value and minimize risks. Prior to PFA Frederik worked as a consultant.
Hans is responsible for procurement within the business area at Hiab and leads a central team of 30 with a team of 40 distributed within separate business lines. In the central team he manages supplier development and is focused on enhancing the SRM program in order to allow full potential of preferred supplier’s and supplier innovation, creating an efficient, forward thinking way of working. Hans has driven the program and new procurement IT solution under implementation across the business and has improved the supplier finance program and E2E focus. Hans has achieved solid and long term category strategies and is now adding the new experience of the enhanced SRM program to utilise supplier innovation capability further.
Will takes the lead in identifying new market opportunities, and assists in the establishment of new offices globally. In the last two years he has been Interim GM of the CIPS MENA office, and has assisted in the setting up of offices in Singapore and Beijing. He is currently overseeing CIPS operations in mainland Europe. Will is also responsible for working with global corporate clients to design and develop solutions to help organisations maximise their procurement and supply chain capability including people and process development. Will moved to CIPS in 2010 following a career with specialist event organisers IQPC, where he was responsible for business development opportunities in many specialist markets including the procurement and supply chain event arena where Will helped to successfully launch and develop some of the leading events in this field.

Prior to joining Indirect Procurement, Andrea spent several years in Direct Materials and covered different business functions in Ecolab and in other large Multinationals. He holds a Master Degree of Mechanical Engineering from the University of Rome La Sapienza.
Christophe is Vice President Procurement Europe & MEA for Ecolab since 2013. He has the responsibility for Direct and indirect materials, a portfolio of more than 1.5 Billion of spend, for the Europe & MEA regions. In the past 4 years he drove the transformation of the functions towards strategic sourcing with the creation of Centers of Expertise. Prior joining the Procurement function he held different supply chain and business functions for Ecolab (Nalco divisions). During his 25 years within the Ecolab group he lived in France, Germany, The Netherlands and Switzerland.
